SYLVIA SMOLLER, PhD is a scientist and a writer. She is Distinguished University Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. An authority in epidemiology, Dr. Smoller is a leader in national and international studies in women’s health, and in cardiovascular disease. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Einstein Spirit of Achievement Award, and the President’s Medallion (honorary degree) of Yeshiva University.  She has published numerous scientific articles, as well as a historical novel about World War II called Chance and Consequence. Several of her poems have been published in Ad Libitum, the Einstein literary magazine.

 MICHAEL HAFFTKA is an internationally acclaimed visual artist whose art has been exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art and other museums. His work is represented in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, National Gallery of Art, and more. Hafftka’s work has been written about extensively by the late art historian and curator Professor Sam Hunter, Princeton University, and the late John Caldwell NYT critic and SFMOMA curator.
