Dr. Sylvia Smoller, author of Rachel and Aleks: A Historical Novel of Life, Love, and WWII, is a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and is the Manealoff-Rosen Chair. Emerita. She leads large national studies on women's health, and heart disease prevention. She has published over 250 scientific articles as well as a book on medical research methods. She lives in New York City.
